Red carpets
A red carpet is four groups sharing one strip of floor: talent, photographers, broadcast crews and interviewers. On the ESPYS 2024 carpet in Los Angeles, 120+ double-sided hedges split them apart, with 4-foot panels as boundaries and 8-foot panels as photo backdrops, all set in one night.
Two heights, two jobs
Low walls guide the line. Tall walls hold the shot.
At the ESPYS, the 4-foot panels set lower boundaries that steered movement without reading as walls on camera. The 8-foot panels stood behind talent as backdrops. All of them were double-sided, because lenses pointed at the hedges from the talent side and the press side.

FAQ
Carpet producer questions
/Can the carpet be installed overnight?
The ESPYS carpet was. Every panel went in overnight in the gap between other vendors finishing and guests arriving. Your window is quoted from the venue’s access times.
/How long a press line can hedges cover?
Each standard panel covers 4 linear feet, so an 80-foot media line takes about 20 panels. Double-sided panels mean the press side and the talent side both look finished.
/Can sponsor logos go on the backdrop?
Custom branding cutouts and integrated LED lighting are options on the boxwood panels. Hedge letters, 3 to 6 feet tall, are sold rather than rented, so the show keeps them for next year; letters are quoted per project.
/What if the layout needs to change on site?
On the ESPYS carpet the modular panels let the client’s team adjust the layout on site to fit the exact space.
/Will the hedges keep their color under sun and broadcast lights?
The boxwood is UV-stable. At the ESPYS the hedges stayed shaped and colored from the first arrival to the last departure, with no watering and no maintenance during the show.
/Who designs the carpet layout?
For the ESPYS we worked directly with the client’s in-house designer. You can also draw the runs yourself in the Design Studio, which is a drawing tool rather than a photo. When available, our in-house team can also produce photorealistic mockups.
