A wedding backdrop is a run of boxwood panels or a free-standing living wall behind the couple, often with an arch at the aisle and initials in boxwood letters. Tell us the venue, the date and where the ceremony and dinner take place, and we send back a panel count and a layout for each spot.
The wedding on record
We have one documented wedding, at Hotel del Coronado. The second card is a hotel event rather than a wedding; it is here because it shows how tall a living wall can stand indoors.

Ceremony backdrop
A straight run of 8-foot boxwood or a living wall behind the officiant, so every vow photo has a finished background.
Aisle or entry arch
A freestanding boxwood arch at the top of the aisle or the venue door. It can join a hedge run on either side.
Guest photo wall
A short boxwood run near cocktail hour, placed with room in front for a line of guests.
Head table backdrop
Half panels at 4 feet sit low behind the head table; full 8-foot panels turn it into the room’s focal wall.
Seating chart wall
A living wall at the entrance with the seating chart or a welcome sign on it. Signage integration is a listed option.
Initials and family names
Boxwood letters spelling a monogram or a surname. Custom letters are bought and kept; the TRUELOVE set can be rented.

What a wedding wall costs
The smallest wedding order is the market minimum: 10 panels in California, 12 in Las Vegas, 12 in Phoenix, 12 in Dallas–Fort Worth, 12 in Houston and 8 in Austin. A standard 4×8 boxwood panel starts at $160 and a 4×4 half panel at $130. Arches, letters and living walls are quoted per project. Delivery, setup and strike are quoted per event.
Questions couples and planners ask
How wide is a ceremony backdrop?
As wide as the panels you order. A standard boxwood panel is 4 feet long and 8 feet tall, so each one adds 4 feet. The market minimum sets the smallest order, and any panels the ceremony doesn’t need can make a photo wall elsewhere at the venue.
Can we see the backdrop before the wedding?
Use Plan a Layout in the Design Studio to sketch the wall against your floor plan. The Studio is a drawing tool, not a photo of the finished setup. When available, our in-house team can make a photorealistic mockup of it.
Do we rent the letters or buy them?
Custom letters are bought, and they’re yours after the wedding, which suits a monogram you want to keep. The one set we rent spells TRUELOVE. Letters are quoted per project.
Will a hedge wall work at an outdoor ceremony?
Often. Temporary outdoor use is scoped venue by venue, so tell us the ground surface and how exposed the ceremony site is. The Hotel del Coronado wall used UV-resistant materials chosen to hold their color in bright coastal light.
