Concours d'Elegance Monterey

For Concours d'Elegance during Monterey Car Week, the goal was a clean, high-end layout that guided guests naturally while staying camera-ready from every angle. Evergreen Event Rental supplied modular hedge wall rentals to create defined zones without introducing permanent structures.

Overview

Monterey Car Week events move fast and draw high foot traffic, so layout decisions directly impact guest experience. This Concours d'Elegance installation needed greenery that looked intentional, supported wayfinding, and stayed consistent in photos and video.

Evergreen Event Rental provided modular boxwood hedge walls as a rental-first solution. The system allowed the event team to shape the footprint around real venue conditions while keeping setup and strike practical.

The Challenge

The event needed clear boundaries and visual order, but without making the space feel blocked off. In luxury environments, temporary walls can look improvised if seams, lines, and sightlines are not handled well.

The client also needed a solution that could be installed within event scheduling constraints and removed cleanly after close, with minimal friction for venue operations.

Our Solution

We used modular hedge walls to divide key areas and create a unified green backdrop across the footprint. Modular sizing gave flexibility during placement while preserving consistent visual density.

The design approach focused on:

• Clean perimeter lines for better guest flow
• Strategic partitions where privacy or separation mattered
• Cohesive greenery that photographed well in a premium event setting

Implementation

Evergreen Event Rental coordinated delivery, onsite setup, and pickup. During install, runs were aligned for tight seams and straight edges so the walls read as one integrated surface instead of disconnected sections.

Because the build was modular, small on-site adjustments could be made quickly as operations finalized traffic paths and staging positions.

Results

The finished layout created clearer movement through the event while maintaining a polished visual standard across the venue. The hedge walls delivered both function and aesthetics: practical space definition with a backdrop that supported branded and guest photography.

The rental model also kept logistics simple, with install and strike handled by one vendor from delivery through pickup.
