Insomniac needed a quick way to define space and add privacy inside the high-energy Beyond Wonderland Southern California 2025 festival site. Evergreen Event Rental delivered and installed 50+ modular, UV-resistant hedge walls to create clean, intentional boundaries that looked good from both sides—then came back for pickup on schedule.

Overview

Beyond Wonderland Southern California 2025 brought large-scale festival production to San Bernardino, with multiple areas that needed clear edges, controlled access, and an outdoor-ready finish. Insomniac brought in Evergreen Event Rental for rental greenery that could pull double duty: part visual design, part functional divider.

Over a 3-week timeline, we delivered and installed 50+ modular hedge panels in two sizes—4' x 4' and 4' x 8'—using double-sided units so everything read cleanly from every angle. Delivery and pickup were included, which kept the client’s internal team focused on the show build instead of managing rental logistics.

The Challenge

Festivals don’t wait. The client had to carve out defined zones and create privacy without building hard walls or adding structures that would clash with a creative, design-forward site.

They also had a tight window for setup and teardown. So the rental solution needed to go in fast, be simple to reconfigure when site conditions changed, and hold up outdoors. In Southern California, heat and sun aren’t theoretical—they affect materials—so performance mattered just as much as how it looked.

Our Solution

We worked directly with the client’s point of contact to map where privacy mattered most and where event flow needed clearer boundaries. Instead of treating the greenery like “decor,” we planned it like a site element: modular runs that could be extended, shortened, or shifted as the build evolved.

The final rental package centered on 50+ hedge walls made with UV-resistant materials in a modular system. We specified double-sided panels so the greenery stayed dense and consistent on both sides—ideal for pathways, back-of-house edges, and any spot guests could see from more than one direction.

Implementation

We scheduled delivery around the production calendar and coordinated placement so crews could work alongside other trades on site. Our team handled unloading, layout, and installation, keeping things moving without pulling extra labor from the client.

Since the hedge walls were modular, we could fine-tune lengths and angles during install to match the real footprint—especially when last-minute changes came in from operations. After the event, we returned within the agreed teardown window and removed all rental units efficiently so the site cleared on schedule.

Results

The hedge wall rentals created instant zones—privacy where it was needed and clean, readable boundaries that helped the site feel organized without looking like a temporary fix. The double-sided panels kept the look consistent from every guest-facing angle.

On the production side, the modular system made quick adjustments during build easier, and the UV-resistant materials held up outdoors. Because Evergreen Event Rental handled delivery, setup, and pickup, the client got a finished result without adding another coordination thread for their team.
