Lollapalooza Experience Cube
Custom hedge experience cube installation at Lollapalooza in Chicago

Project Snapshot
This installation features our custom creations solution for a festivals event format. For this project, Evergreen Event Rental handled design alignment, delivery, setup, and strike.
Case Study
Evergreen Event Rental replicated a successful Hendrick’s Gin Experience Cube for Lollapalooza in Chicago—handling cross-country transport from California, on-site setup, and a fire-retardant, modular build designed for festival conditions.
After a successful run at Stagecoach, Hendrick’s Gin wanted the same Experience Cube at Lollapalooza in Chicago. Evergreen Event Rental managed the logistics from start to finish—moving the build from Escondido to Chicago, running on-site setup, and meeting local fire-retardant requirements.
Overview
Evergreen Event Rental supported Hendrick’s Gin with an Experience Cube rental for Lollapalooza in Chicago, Illinois. The ask was straightforward: recreate what worked at Stagecoach, but in a new city, under different site rules, and on a festival schedule where delays pile up fast.
The project spanned about two months, from planning and prep through cross-country transport and on-site execution. The Experience Cube used a modular design to speed up assembly, was built with UV-resistant materials for outdoor conditions, and included delivery and pickup in the rental scope.
The Challenge
This wasn’t a brand-new concept—it was a repeat. That sounds simple until you move it into a different festival and a different city. Lollapalooza comes with tighter access windows, heavier site traffic, and a build pace that exposes anything finicky or fragile.
Chicago’s requirements were also part of the job. Fire-retardant materials were one of the local expectations for this build. The challenge was keeping the Stagecoach look and feel intact while matching Chicago’s event standards and the realities of an outdoor festival footprint.
Our Solution
We treated it like a controlled repeat: keep what held up at Stagecoach, cut anything that adds risk, and run logistics the way you’d run a touring build. Evergreen Event Rental supplied a modular Experience Cube that goes together cleanly on-site and keeps its appearance through long outdoor days, using UV-resistant materials.
To cut down on handoffs and last-minute surprises, we drove the build ourselves from Escondido, California to Chicago, Illinois. That kept handling and timing under our control, and it kept the same team close to the details from load-out to setup.
We also prepared the build around the fire-retardant requirement referenced for the City of Chicago as part of the event constraints. We won’t call that a blanket compliance promise—permits and venue rules vary—but the requirement was accounted for in the materials and prep.
Implementation
We started by confirming what could be carried over from the Stagecoach install, then translating that to the Lollapalooza site reality—load-in flow, assembly order, and what needed to be staged so the team could move fast once the truck doors opened.
From there, it ran as a single chain of custody: transport from Southern California to Chicago, followed by on-site assembly by the same team that knew the build. Modular construction kept the install predictable, with components designed to lock in sequence instead of getting pieced together on the fly.
When the event ended, pickup was included in the rental. The client didn’t need to source labor or solve where the build goes next—we handled teardown and removal so the footprint cleared on schedule.
Results
Hendrick’s Gin got the Stagecoach Experience Cube feel at Lollapalooza without giving up the look. The modular format supported a quick, practical setup, and the UV-resistant materials were chosen for outdoor conditions where sun and heat can fade or wear finishes.
From an operations standpoint, cross-country delivery by the same team lowered the risk that comes with swapping carriers and crews. It also kept decisions tight on-site—same people, same build knowledge, fewer places for small details to drift.
The result was a custom build that created immediate, defined space for brand interaction, with a clean install and a clear teardown and pickup plan once the festival schedule rolled on.
